On August 6, KHCB on-air host Collin Lambert passed away following a long and difficult battle with aplastic anemia. We invite you to read this touching tribute from Collin’s dear friend, Kurt Goff, whose voice you’ve heard on KHCB in recent weeks as he graciously filled in for Collin during his illness.
“I’ll See You Later, Collin” by Kurt Goff
“Jesus wept.” ~ John 11:35
The shortest verse in the English Bible is a miracle of economy and depth. Short enough to stay in your mind forever and deep enough to comfort your grieving heart.

I’ve been spending some time lingering here over the last few days following the homegoing of my friend Collin Lambert. It was quite an honor to fill in for him at KHCB during his last illness. He fought the good fight, he finished his race, and he kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).
Now he’s absent from the body and at home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Amen.
John 11 highlights the death and resurrection of Lazarus. Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus that their brother was sick knowing both His heart and His power to heal. And yet Jesus delayed. His plan was much bigger than they could have imagined:
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40).
Even knowing He was going to raise Lazarus from the dead, Jesus entered into their grief.
As C.S. Lewis wrote following the death of his wife, “The pain now is part of the happiness then. That’s the deal.”
Grief and hope live side-by-side in the heart of the believer this side of Heaven.
But those who die in Christ never see each other for the last time.
No goodbye from me Collin.
Just… I’ll see you later.
