KHCB Radio has been serving the Greater Houston area for decades as a listener-supported Christian radio station, providing biblically-based teaching, worship music, and community-focused programming. Broadcasting on multiple frequencies including 105.7 FM and 1400 AM in Houston, KHCB also reaches 20 markets across Texas plus Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. KHCB is committed to sharing the Gospel and encouraging believers through quality Christian content that inspires, equips, and connects communities to Christ.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Content and Operations is a senior leader responsible for overseeing KHCB's on-air content strategy, programming operations, and day-to-day ministry workflow. This individual will lead teams across programming, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment with KHCB's mission and the delivery of high-quality, Christ-centered content to listeners across all platforms. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management and requires strong alignment with KHCB's theological values and communication goals.
Ministry Responsibilities
Strategic Ministry Leadership
- Provide vision, leadership, and accountability for KHCB's programming across all platforms (radio, digital, and streaming)
- Work with the President and executive leadership team to shape long-term goals for content, growth, and ministry impact
- Develop strategies to deepen engagement in the Houston community and across KHCB's network of stations
- Support the development and implementation of new programming initiatives, special broadcasts, and seasonal campaigns
- Ensure all content reflects biblical truth, spiritual clarity, and the ministry's commitment to serving a wide Christian audience
Core Ministry Responsibilities
- Supervise programming schedules, live broadcasts, teaching segments, and music rotation strategies
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring cross-departmental coordination and mission-focused efficiency
- Supervise direct reports across marketing, operations, and content teams; ensure performance reviews, training, and team development are conducted regularly
- Establish operational benchmarks, evaluate processes, and implement improvements to enhance listener experience and internal systems
- Ensure all staff and content reflect the values, doctrine, and tone of KHCB's mission
- Partner with the Senior Director of Development, Senior Director of Technology, and the Chief Engineer to ensure seamless integration of content, donor communication, and broadcast infrastructure
Operational Ministry Support
- Monitor and optimize workflow across programming, marketing, and operations teams
- Represent KHCB in public relations opportunities and key community events when needed
- Maintain alignment between operational execution and ministry objectives

Selected individual must be enthusiastic about working in an evangelical Christian non–profit and non-smoking, work environment. Education
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Business Administration, Ministry, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in radio broadcasting, media operations, or ministry communications
- 5+ years in senior management with direct oversight of multiple teams or departments
- Proven track record of developing and executing content strategies in a Christian or mission-driven organization
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating complex operational systems
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of radio broadcasting operations, programming strategies, and digital media platforms
- Understanding of FCC regulations and broadcast compliance
- Proficiency with broadcast management systems and content scheduling tools
- Strong grasp of audience analytics and engagement metrics

This job operates in a professional broadcasting environment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to routinely use standard office and broadcast equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Some travel is expected for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Seminary or theological training
- Experience in listener-supported or donor-funded media organizations
- Background in both traditional radio and digital/streaming content platforms
- Established relationships within the Christian broadcasting community
- Experience with crisis communication and public relations in a ministry context
