“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4 (KJV)
In the last few years there’s been a resurgence of sorts, the resurgence of the Stanley cup. (Not to be confused with the NHL Stanley Cup.) You know, the unmistakable green Stanley thermos that your grandpa used to keep his coffee hot? Yes, this Stanley. It’s made quite the comeback.
Target and Amazon can hardly keep it on their shelves and it now comes in an array of colors: Rose Quartz, Chambray and Citron just to name a few. I think an argument could be made that the Stanley brand and stockholders are not the only ones to benefit from this epic comeback. Many Stanley owners are now consuming countless ounces of water because it’s “more fun” to drink from a Stanley tumbler than your average water bottle.
Our bodies are reaping the benefits of daily water intake but our souls, the life-giving Spirit of God, may still be quenched. In this Thanksgiving season, how can you keep your soul hydrated? The solution is quite simple. Just as our bodies benefit from H20, our spiritual heart benefits from WPP: worship, prayer and praise. These three have the power to hydrate our soul.
When was the last time you attended Worship?
When was the last time you prayed?
When did you last praise the Creator of the Universe, our Living Water?
Make it a priority to attend Worship and Bible study this weekend. Listen to Worship music on your commute to work. If you’re a Houstonian, turn your radio dial to KHCB (105.7 FM) or stream UPLIFTD music and messages online from anywhere through the web or app.
Prioritize time in your day to talk with God. Praise Him for Jesus and the blessings in your life.
