“I shall remember the deeds of the LORD; I will certainly remember Your wonders of old.” Psalm 77:11(NASB)
What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” – A. W. Tozer
May I ask you a question or two?
- What do you believe to be true about God right now?
- Does God feel distant?
- Does it feel like God’s taking too long to answer your prayer?
- Does it feel like He’s providing for others and not you?
- Does it feel like you’ve been forgotten?
Life sometimes throws us curveballs: betrayal, job loss, wayward children, or a life-threatening diagnosis. Worry and anxiety come crashing in like a tidal wave and throw us off our axis. Bewildered, alone, and scared are just a few of the symptoms. As believers, we may know God’s character, but it gets buried in an avalanche of emotions and what we need most is to be reminded of who God truly is.
He is loving. He is faithful. He is purposeful. He is omnipotent. He is all-sufficient.
Remember the questions above (Does it feel…?). It’s important to remember that what we feel is not always what is true. Today let’s take a prayerful moment to be honest with God. Confess where you are struggling and how you desire to see His character anew.
